Belgium is one of the first 6 countries (with Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France and Germany) who started to produce Europa Stamps in 1956. They never stopped issuing, since then each year one or two stamp.

Belgium as a bi-lingual country (French and Dutch) produce each year two Europa stamps one starting with the French name of Belgium, "Belgique" and one with the Dutch name "België". Each stamp also depict each year a subject linked with the French part (Wallonia) and one with the Dutch-Flemish part (Flanders) of Belgium.
